Educents ~ Daily Deals for Educational Products

Have you visited Educents yet? Educents is a daily deal site for educational products. They have various products like online curriculum, bible curriculum sets, subscriptions for online services, educational toys, and other items. It changes every week, and it's fun to get on and see what's new.

I signed up when they first started and check out their deals every now and then. As with most sites, some deals don't apply to me, some do... But they all seem to be fairly decent price-wise. A couple weeks ago, they even had a free ebook (Homeschooling and Loving It) available for download.

My first purchase (just made today) was for a college fund program from N2 College - the “College Kid$” $cholar$hip Jump$tart Early Funding Program. Not entirely sure how it will work out, but it's recommended by Dave Ramsey so I figure it must be fairly decent. When I signed up, I received a $10 credit which I applied towards this purchase. The Educents price is $29.98 - a great deal from the normal $179 price, and with my $10 credit, I paid only $19.98. Not bad for a product that is supposed to help us apply for college scholarships for PreK-7th graders.

Go check out Educents and see if they have any deals for you!

Free Online CurrClick Live Open House

I've mentioned CurrClick several times. I love the resources they offer homeschoolers. I've gotten many free lessons/units from their site. CurrClick has tons of various curriculum/units available for sale. They also offer live classes and clubs.

Next week, CurrClick is hosting CurrClick Live, a great free online opportunity to learn about the online live classes and clubs operated by CurrClick. You can meet the teachers, find out what classes will be taught and what clubs there will be, and hear some homeschooling tips from various keynote speakers. It takes place online, January 7th and 8th in the evenings.

Last year, we signed up my oldest son for the free Magic Treehouse Club at CurrClick. He absolutely loved participating in a club with other students who enjoyed (or at least were reading) the same books as him. The teacher/facilitator spent time going through each chapter of the book, asked multiple choice questions the kids could answer, and also introduced extra information about the topic of each particular book (like specific dinosaurs for when they read Dinosaurs Before Dark). She also sent out a list of materials to prepare for a craft/activity they could do with her online (making dino impressions in homemade playdough). Cedric looked forward to the hour-long club meeting every week with great excitement.

This is just one type of club/class offered on CurrClick. Some are free, like the Lego Club and the American Girl Club. There's even a Chess Club! The rest of the classes have various fees. Some are semester-long, while others run for shorter periods of time.

If you're looking to supplement your homeschooling, head on over to the CurrClick Live Open House and sign up to learn all about the online classes and other info. It's free, so there's nothing to lose but a little bit of your time. (Though I hope you won't think it to be a waste of time!)

Free Download of Ultimate Maths Invaders Software

I've not tried this software out, but it's something I'd want to download and check out - since Edalive is giving away only 10,000 free downloads, I didn't want y'all to have to wait for me to try it out first! Hurry and download your free copy of the Ultimate Maths Invader and see how it will work for your homeschooler (or non-homeschooler)!

Thanks to Money Saving Mom for the heads up!
